Using print scans

For the most part the photos on this website are sourced from film scans, which work reasonably well from both a image quality and convenience point of view. However, this presents a kind of paradox as the reason to use black & film is often to make a print in the darkroom, but scanned prints often bare very little similarity to print quality in real life. Sometimes though, especially if I’m not so concerned with definition these scans can work, and are I think worth showing as printing is very much an interpretation and creative process itself.

The two examples here are from 35mm T-Max 400 negatives printed on ILFORD MGWT fibre base semi-matt paper.
