Scratches on 35mm

Scanning a batch of 35mm film exposed in my Nikon FM2N earlier this year I see a few horizontal scratches. Suspect grit or sand has got into the mechanism, hopefully it’ll come out okay. Not really seen this before, but the camera had been sitting around for a while unused so not totally surprising.  Also film scans seem more unforgiving compared to diffusion enlarger prints (I use the De Vere and ILFORD MULTIGRADE 500 systems) – conventional black & white process film doesn’t work with digital ICE, whereas ILFORD XP2 Super does (C-41).
